Win10 Pro Retail keys – Office 2016/2019 and others
All these keys are Retail keys unless specifically
described as another type. As retail
keys, they can be used to activate a new, fresh install, to activate an
existing (but UNactivated) install, or to upgrade an existing install TO a
newer version as allowed by the manufacturer.
Lastly, in many cases retail keys will permit an “over the top” install
of a new version that will save desktops and data from the current eversion –
greatly reducing the ag of upgrading in place.
As provided by Microsoft in the “creator’s” update a couple
years ago, many of these keys can be “bound” to an MS account and gain “undead”
status: the activation will refuse to die as a result of system changes or
mishaps that would otherwise kill the activation. For example, change or upgrade of a MB or
failure to create appropriate receiving partitions when copying a hdd to an
ssd. Doesn’t always work, but can be a
handy benefit.
Now, you don’t have to bind the key to your
MS account. If you prefer to maintain
your privacy, you can activate completely on your own if you prefer.
Expiration
Most keys have a limited “shelf life” time to be used. The activation they provide is permanent,
once done. But if the key is not used,
the activation windows will close. In
general retail keys will have a one month expiration. You should plan accordingly. Some key types are available which have
longer expirations. LMK if that is a
priority for you. Here are some of the

These are low cost keys that will do both clean installs
and upgrades, but must be used within a few days of purchase.

SuperKeys
SuperKeys are Retail keys of a variant that offers useful additional
capabilities beyond standard retail.
First they have longer expirations than Standard Retail keys and are
guaranteed for 3 months. Secondly, they
are the most proficient activators available.
For example, it can be frustrating to upgrade a Win10 Home install to
Pro with start>settings. That IS an
allowed path, but the Win10 Home installation may have a dubious “parentage”. Win10 Home is often used in very low cost
systems, like OEM laptops with odd and proprietary key types. Might be an OEM, or have been an auto upgrade
that began life as a Win7 version. Since
the upgrade doesn’t necessarily change version types the upgrade can be
troublesome. If it is an allowed upgrade, the SuperKey will get it done. Can be
handy.
